How to Share a Movie Trailer and Get Real Views
Sharing a trailer is not posting a link once. The trailers that get watched follow the same simple plan.
Pick the launch day
Launch four to eight weeks before release, on a weekday morning US time. That gives viewers time to plan and gives YouTube time to recommend the trailer.
Write a title people search for
Viewers search for the film name plus the word trailer. A clear title works best: Film Title | Official Trailer (2026). Put the release date and platform in the first line of the description.
Use a thumbnail that reads on a phone
One face or one striking image, high contrast, very little text. Most views come from phones, so check it small.
Partner with a trailer channel
The fastest way to views is an audience that already exists. A premiere on a trailer channel puts your film in front of subscribers who watch trailers every day. You can send your trailer to MTubes for a premiere.
Cut vertical versions
Make two or three short vertical cuts for Shorts, Reels and TikTok. Each one should work without sound, so add captions.
Keep it going
Share the trailer again when you release the poster, a clip, festival news and the release itself. Each moment is a new reason to watch.
How do I get more views on my trailer?
Launch it with a clear title and thumbnail, premiere it on an established trailer channel and support it with short vertical cuts on social media.
How long should a trailer be?
Most official trailers run between 1:30 and 2:30. Teasers are shorter, often under one minute.
